City of Lavon Property Tax Information

2024-25 PUBLIC NOTICE – The City of Lavon ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s budget by $621,355 which is a 16.76% increase from last year’s budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $364,118. The proposed tax rate of $0.42 per $100 is greater than the no-new-revenue tax rate of $0.391501 and is not greater than the voter approval tax rate of $0.479024. The proposed tax rate for maintenance and operations is $0.228373 and for debt service for capital improvements is $0.191627.
