Lavon’s Park and Recreation Department continually strives to provide opportunities to the city’s growing population with quality parks, open spaces and facilities. The City of Lavon is committed to having a great park and trail system that compliments the overall image and livability of the city.
Eagle Pond located at Lincoln Ave and Harrison Ln in the Bear Creek subdivision is a haven of tranquility, featuring a pond surrounded by colorful plants and a variety of native trees, shrubs and walking trail. The passive open space is a great place for visitors to enjoy nature. Benches and a doggie waste station are located along the walking trail for visitors’ convenience.
CITY HALL PARK
City Hall Park is a beautiful shaded park with a paved walking trail, great for walking and biking. It is in an ideal location near the historic Lavon City Hall. Home to the City’s favorite special events, the Easter Fun Day and Fall Festival, the park offers a pavilion as well as an updated and maintained playground. CITY HALL COMMUNITY ROOM/GYMNASIUM
The Community Room at City Hall, formerly the historic elementary school cafeteria, is a multipurpose room with kitchen amenities as well as tables and chairs available. The Community Room offers plentiful counter space for serving as well as large windows providing views of the City Hall Park and Pavilion. The Community Room seats 30 with tables and chairs or 60 with chairs only.
The City Hall Gymnasium has been restored to near original condition, providing a great amenity for the community. The Gymnasium can be rented for recreational purposes as well as private events. The Gymnasium seats 170 with tables and chairs or 350 with chairs only.

FUTURE PARK DEVELOPMENT
With an eye to the future, the City of Lavon has reserved 19 acres of open space near City Hall for future park development.
