The Sanitary Sewer Rate Schedule has been updated and contains rate increases for out-of-city customers, as well as rate structure changes for commercial customers. There is no increase for residential sewer customers in the City. Download Ord. No. 2024-04-02 for details.

– SANITARY SEWER SERVICE:

The City of Lavon offers sanitary sewer services to certain areas of the city. Please contact City Hall for more information.

– GARBAGE RECYCLING SERVICES:

The City of Lavon requires every resident to have trash and recycling service. The City of Lavon contracts with Community Waste Disposal (CWD) for these services and will provide recycling and garbage carts for your use.

Weekly curbside collection of garbage and recycling is on Wednesday. Please place your items out by 7:00a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Two cubic yards of bulk brush and excess trash placed beside the carts will be collected free of charge each Wednesday. Loose brush should be neatly stacked in four-foot (4’) lengths and weigh no more than 40 pounds.

Additional Trash and bulk items may be dropped off for a fee at the CWD Transfer Station at 2010 California Crossing, Dallas, TX from Wednesday to Saturday 8am-1pm excluding holidays. A copy of your City of Lavon utility bill is required.

– CURBSIDE AND BULK COLLECTION:

Acceptable:
– Kitchen appliances
– Washing machines and dryers 
– Toys
– Yard tools 
– Bundled carpet in 4-foot lengths
– Water heaters
– Furniture
– Fence Panels no bigger than 4’x6’
– Bagged leaves
– Excess bagged trash
– Refrigerators/freezers must be tagged certifying removal of refrigerants

CWD will NOT collect:
– Commercial construction or remodeling debris
– Paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, tires, batteries and propane tanks

*Special collection of items that do not fit into the bulk category may be arranged through CWD and are subject to an additional charge for collection*

Cooking Oil may be disposed of, free of charge, at City Hall during business hours.

– RECYCLING:

Recyclables can all be commingled in your blue 95-gallon recycling cart.

Acceptable:
-Dry un-yellowed newspapers (including inserts)
-Phone books
-Magazines catalogs
-Corrugated containers that are broken down.
-Chipboard containers that are broken down. Chipboard, or paperboard, is used to make tissue boxes, cereal boxes, shoe boxes, etc.

Acceptable containers are:
– Plastic bottles #’s 1 – 5 and #7 (numbers can be found inside chasing arrows on side or bottom of bottles)
– Flattened aluminum drink cans
– Tin/steel cans, empty aerosol cans
– Unbroken glass bottles and jars
– All containers must be rinsed

– HAZARDOUS MATERIALS:

The City of Lavon and CWD partner each year to hold a ‘Household Hazardous Waste and Clean-Up Event’. Watch our website for more details.
