Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning & Zoning Commission studies and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning the systematic development and betterment of the City as related to the zoning regulations.
Planning & Zoning Commission Meetings
Meetings of the commission are generally held at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meeting’s are held in the Lavon City Hall, 120 School Road. When required, special meetings may be called by the Chair with 72 hours notice. Official meeting notices and agendas are posted on the front doors of City Hall, on the City bulletin board and on this website at least 72 hours prior to each meeting. Lavon residents and visitors are welcome to attend.

The commission consists of five (5) members who are appointed by the City Council for two-year terms of office. Places 1, 3, and 5 are appointed in odd-numbered years, and Places 2 and 4 in even-numbered years. Terms begin in July of each year.
The City Manager (or designee) and Director of Public Works serve on the Commission as ex-officio members.
The Planning & Zoning Commission depends on residents who volunteer their time and expertise.
